Some of us folk have one computer which is a windows 7 computer. I understand not supporting old software (i.e Vista/etc) because that would cause new features to not being supported that depend on the new OS and you would be stalled on some old obs release. I turned in a bug I found that appeared when switching from 27.0.1 to 27.1.3. Worked on the old, not the new. I spent a few hours on github to explain the issue. I had found a solution that works for me, but thought it might affect other people. It had to do with video/audio shuddering. One admin that answered said win 7 no longer supported, could you verify on a supported system. Reasonable if win 7 is the problem. My win 7 computer is keyed for adobe premier pro cs6, payed a lot of money for it and adobe doesn't support cs6 anymore on newer systems, so stuck. The seconds admin just closed the request. So no one ever looked into the issue.
So at this point, obs github doesn't support win 7 at all. I would think that if github is not supporting win 7 , then the release team should declare what is the last version of obs that works with it. I.e 2x.x.x and declare that current obs version is vetted only for win 10,11 etc. I've read a lot of the docs and maybe just missed that obs is not vetted for win 7 and apologize for this thread if true, but if so, then in the downloads it should say, obs may not work on win 7. Microsoft may not support win 7, but I thought obs did.
I've uploaded 2 issues reports to gethub and the first one was handled well with the issue resolved, and I was very happy and it resulted in the fix being added to the next update. A third one was handled by this forum.
I just tried the current download sites and found that they download 27.1.1 for windows but no warning about what windows. Anyway, thanks for considering this thread
