OBS Getting Stuck in Background

Hi,
Love using OBS and it has been a great tool up until recently. It has started acting strange where after a recording is complete, it will not record again until I close and reopen it. But wait, I can't just close it and reopen because it's process is hung up in task manager and the icon remains in the system tray even if selecting exit from the file menu. I have tried going to a semi-older version. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Still getting this behavior. The log file link is here https://obsproject.com/logs/feA15F3ErDsFgJqF and I will also attach to this thread. I hope there is a way to fix this issue as the software worked so good when I first started using it.

So, I'm not the only one. This also happens for older OS as well. I think this is Qt related bug (missing signal or so). Because the next step is just QApplication->quit() and object destroy. The next message in the log should be: "[Scripting] Total detached callbacks: 0" but it never happens. No workaround found.

As side effect for me, it always stuck (OBS v27.0.1) on exit if I follow the steps from the https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/issues/4885 (NaN error of the FFmpeg AAC encoder).

OBS was working great last night. But ever since I restarted my PC this morning, I'm facing the same issue as well. As a game tester, this is a big issue for me as OBS is all we use to record gameplay and now it's acting up.

Recording to MKV is not an option as the database won't accept MKV files.

Please someone find a fix.

I know I'm new here but if you record to MKV first, you can go back and "remux" the mkv into a mp4 file. I still haven't had time yet to test if doing mkv first stops the behavior but I will once off work today.

MKV doesn't work either. It remains the same.

What I'm most curious about is, why is this happening all of a sudden? There was no update that could have been the reason behind this behavior.

I'm in the same boat. Mine was working so well when I downloaded it a couple of months back but then all of a sudden just started this behavior. It's doing the same thing on my GFs computer as well.

I was thinking that as well but if there was some sort of conflict, I'm sure these other devs are running a good updated version of Windows and they should be seeing the same behavior if that was the case. Or the log files should show some sort of conflict somewhere.

Even SLOBS is the same.
Looking for an alternative now.

I broke down and purchased BandiCam but it only records and does not stream. If there is no resolution for this, I'll have to search for a good streaming solution as well. That's why I liked OBS so much because it handled both tasks very well. Hell, I would have purchased it if it had a price tag.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled like 10 times, restarted my PC multiple times. But all hope is lost.
Hopefully, it'll get fixed soon.

So, NOT using the AMD encoder is the fix? Doesn't that put more stress on the CPU while gaming using the X264? Use that for both streaming AND recording?

I just used the X264 and the video is super pixelated. Any settings to adjust for that encoder to clean that up?
