Question / Help OBS Game Capture / Window Capture Blackscreen.

I have been using obs to stream for around 3 months but its constantly been a battle for whether the game capture wants to work or not. The first time i used obs it worked fine, not sure if this is because the game was in fullscreen windowed, but now all i get (across all games i have tested) is a black screen in the preview and on the stream. Really stuck on how to fix this.
Specs - Desktop:
Windows 10 64bit
i5 6400
GTX 1070
Asus Z170-P
