OBS Game Capture, doesn't hook UWP apps

I have been driven to insanity with this issue.
Everything on OBS works 100%, except when trying to capture a full screen UWP/Windows Store game.
When screen capturing it works fine, but there's a slight stutter to the footage, which irritates the crap out of me.

I am running OBS as admin, I have added it to the Trusted Applications Group and even when trying to capture the window by specifying it, I still just get a black screen.

I am running the latest stable build of OBS and Windows 11 (It was happening with Windows 10, prior to my upgrade, so I doubt Windows is the issue).

Can anyone give me some advice as to how to fix this, as I'd love to stream some of the Xbox Game Pass games, but none of them will show up.

There are some UWP apps that can neither be captured with game capture nor with window capture, unfortunately.

Yep. This is due to Microsoft's security measures, and how UWP apps are segmented in memory. There's nothing OBS can do to change that.

If you post a logfile from a recording session with a Monitor Capture where the stutter issue is occurring though, we can take a look and at least try to troubleshoot THAT.

1) Make sure you only have ONE Monitor Capture pointing at a given display. In any/all of your scenes. Visible or not, they can conflict and cause performance issues.
2) Make sure that your Monitor Capture scene does NOT have a Game or Window Capture in the scene, visible or not. Again, they can conflict and cause performance issues.

Thing is, my friend is capturing the games I can't, so I know they can be captured, it's just not working on mine. I have compared my settings and can't find a difference between our settings.

I also now tried the settings GPU "Power Saving" solution for screen capture, hoping that would have some effect, but alas, still not able to hook UWP games. Back4Blood and Dodgeball Acadamia are the two games I am testing with, as they are in Game Pass and my friend also has them installed. He can capture both with Game Capture, no issue.

If your friend is able to capture your game with game capture fine, it's probably not an issue with UWP apps, instead it's an issue with game capture not working on your machine.

I’m having the same issue but I’m playing the game from gamepass off my Xbox series s and my obs just shows a black screen when I start the game
