OBS Game Capture Black Screen

Hello everyone!
In OBS I have the issue, that when I use Game Capture, I mostly don't see the game (black screen). It doesn't matter if I use "capture specific windows" or "capture any fullscreen application".

I already searched online for a solution, but nothing fixed my problem.

I hope you can help me. Thanks!

Please restart OBS and perform a test stream/recording for more than 30 seconds doing as you normally do, including playing games, full camera or whatever you normally do.
Now look inside Help menu. Upload the current log file and paste the url to the log in here. Click on the Analize button to start troubleshooting common issues.

I've been having the same problem. I have literally searched everywhere and still haven't found anything that fixes it, in fact somehow I made it worse and now screen capture wont work correctly either. I tried analyzing the logs and it gave me zero useful information. So sadly I'm stuck.

Don't follow youtube guides for troubleshooting game capture. They are filled with terrible advice.
One of the steps you likely tried was to configure OBS to run in compatibility mode for an older version of windows. That one setting actively breaks more in obs than anything else from those guides.

Ah sad, hope you will find a fix here!

The log shows that the match was actually captured.

Double-check the properties of the game capture source while in a match. If there's a video feed there, then unlock the source in the scene, then press ctrl+r then ctrl+f with the source selected.

You should activate Windows 10 Game Mode. In older win10 versions this feature was broken but they fixed it and actually helps.
Run OBS as admin.
In Advanced settings change the YUV color range to Partial
Windows 11 is known to give problems. Windows 10 (fully updated) it's recommended. Any complaint for the issues with Windows should be directed to Microsoft.

The plugin win-capture-audio is also known to cause issues.
In fact, check for updates of any plugin you have installed and make sure those work with not only OBS but Win11 too. Remove any unused, not updated and/or conflictin plugin to avoid this issues.

And last, make sure you're capturing the game window and not the lobby window.

Hello, the Problem was the "RivaTuner Statistics Server" software, which shows your FPS and other stuff ingame.
Thanks for the help!
