Hello!
Long time lurker, first time poster.
PC Specs:
i7 4770k - 3.5ghz
NVIDIA GTX 1070 8gb
16GB ddr3 ram
Streaming Info:
Base canvas is 1440p (my monitor res), downscaled to 480p (output)
Bitrate is 900
Internet speed is 60 down, 1.5 up
I have been using OBS, and Streamlabs OBS fork for a while now and only recently have I come across this issue. When streaming, I use a Game Capture source with the mode to "Capture any fullscreen application". This has been fine for a while now, when all of a sudden I was dropping to 5-15FPS while streaming. At first I thought it was my internet, but my little readout at the bottom of OBS was stable and green.
I checked my CPU and GPU clock speeds (while the problem was happening) to see if I was getting thermal throttling or something, but it all was normal with temps of around 70 degrees.
It was getting to the point where I couldn't stream because I couldn't figure out what was causing my issue. I started fiddling with settings to try and turn down settings to no avail.
Finally, I changed the capture mode from "Capture any fullscreen application", to "Capture Specific Window" and chose my current game (PUBG), and instantly was locked to my perfect 30fps with 0 drops.
I'm not sure if its a bug, or I am misusing the "Capture any Fullscreen Application". Any feedback would be appreciated because capturing a specific window and changing it every time I open a new game is frustrating.
Thanks!
