OBS Freezing during update install - 28.0.0 -> Latest (Mac Mini M1)

Hey folks just very quickly I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. I am attempting to upgrade my copy of OBS Studio from 28.0.0 to the latest version, I download and install, then once I click to relaunch and install the window displaying "installing update" appears and then nothing else happens. The progress meter doesn't move, and it just remains like this until I force quit it. Is there another way to install the latest version that I am missing?

UPDATE: Just wanted to add that my OS is Monterey 12.6.1

UPDATE: I downloaded a new install of OBS and simply installed it over top of the old version and all appears to be working just fine. Just wanted to let others know should they encounter this error as well.
