I had zero issues with using my webcam in Streamlabs OBS or in OBS Studio until my power went out last night. The PC was hooked up to a battery backup but it shut off much sooner than the 10 minutes it read on screen so it had a hard shut down. Now my webcam will not show up in OBS Studio and if I try to open the properties for Video Capture Device or try to create a new one it freezes the program.

This issue is happening in both Streamlabs and OBS Studio. Yes this was the beta running in my screenshot and log but I tried version 27 as well to test through steam and it didn't work either. I tried re-installing both programs as well as different versions, I re-installed nvidia broadcast, I had windows check for updates and errors and I've restarted several times. I've disabled several other applications from accessing my camera in Windows just to see if something was conflicting with no positive result.

Here's a screenshot of the camera working in other applications while OBS is frozen or not detecting it. I'm able to create a "Window Capture" of the webcam on Nvidia Broadcast and crop it down to the cam and use it but I don't feel like I should have to resort to that.

You're using OBS 28 beta which is not meant for release but find bugs. Please use version 27.2.4 for production.
For the other app you have to ask to the support of that app.

I'm having this EXACT same issue, I have found absolutely no fixes whatsoever online and you're the first I've seen with this issue. Let me know if you've found a fix please!

I too came across this thread when faced with a similar problem.

I ended up solving it by the process of elimination. I disconnected all my USB webcam/capture cards from my PC and I was left with 4 virtual cameras. I uninstalled the virtual cameras that I could, but there were 2 that I had to MANUALLY remove using the Windows Registry Editor. I finally found the culprit virtual camera after removing it, I was able to reconnect my webcam and capture card in OBS.

Hope this helps.
