I am having bad fps lag issues when I attempt to stream with obs. This just started happening again. If I close OBS it goes back to normal. Not sure what can be the cause of this. But if someone can help me out would be awesome! I have a buddy who streams as well and he has the EXACT setup I do but he doesn't encounter issues like this.

Specs:
i7 4790k 4.0ghz
EVGA gtx 970 SSC
8gb G Skills DDR3
Corsair h80i

post your logfile and don't use CS:GO launch options like -high or -threads. both of those will cause issues.

I have multiple scenes. It just so happens that the one I used for the log file was that one. Here is a github of the file.

I go from 300 frames consistant on all high settings to under 200 with all low settings. It happens when I try using OBS. If I close OBS I don't have the issues. I normally play on all high at 300. When I stream I have to drop it to all low settings and I can barely pull 200 FPS and I get an insane amount of tear and lag. I don't know what the issue could be.

If you really run game at 300fps, then it wise to enable v-sync in game or you may try to check Game Capture>Limit capture framerate option (in current Studio build it will divide attempts to capture fps twice)

could you please also stream for at least 5 minutes? that log was just opening and closing basically. we need to see what happens when stressed. note that OBS uses all cores.

my advise would be to remove all monitor captures and see where your FPS is going.

I call BS. There is no way with a single 970 that you run 300fps in the division. with the log you posted, I wouldn't expect much from that game as it is very intense for the CPU and GPU, i.e. not optimized well. 720@30fps would be ideal for this game.

I'm not saying I get 300fps in the division. I am getting 300 fps in CSGO when OBS is NOT opened. I will when I get off work but the issue is still happening. I've looked everywhere for a fix but it hasn't worked. Thanks for everyone input though. I do appreciate you trying to help.

Best bet is to post a log for the game you want to build your settings around. the division is an extremely demanding game and will stress all components. a friend of mine has been forced down to 720@30 just to keep the frames up while OBS is open, he has similar hardware as you do

I can stream the division and still maintain 60 fps nearly the entire time with small drops to 57 at the lowest point. FPS doesn't really change for me on The Division it's only when streaming CS:GO. Any other game does not drop fps. I am not sure what the actual issue could be. I have gone over all settings numerous times and have used obs for over a year. I have no idea why all of the sudden it's doing this. And I just reformatted my pc a couple weeks ago and only have games and obs installed on it so there should not be any other software conflicting

What resolution do you run CS:GO at?
