Question / Help OBS for lecture capture - is Mac easier to use for this purpose than a PC?

I am a PC user who would like to learn OBS to do lecture-capture at academic conferences in order to reduce academic aviation. OBS was used and recommended by conference organizers simultaneously at four different universities for this conference https://music-psychology-conference2018.uni-graz.at/en/ however almost all used Mac computers. One of the organizers said that he thought Windows was less well suited to OBS than Macs, as one person using Windows had some unspecified issue with OBS. If it is true that it's much easier to use on a Mac then I could look for someone who uses a Mac to handle lecture-capture but then I would have to delegate this task to someone else. He did say OBS was pretty intuitive to use and that the technical set-up of audio visual was more complicated than learning OBS.

OBS is fairly similar on both platforms, with the exception that capture of desktop audio on MacOS requires 3rd party software-- see the forum sticky on this subject-- and on MacOS you do not have certain hardware encoder options available even if your hardware theoretically could support it (NVENC, AMF).
