  • I change kde vsync option to auto and add option "tearfree" "on" to my x11 configuration. it helped , but not completely. flicker is still there . can be increased up to monitor the FPS rate

I have seen this problem as well. I am streaming my in-development game, so I can see what's going on.

I'm using SDL2 with v-sync enabled, pinned at 60FPS.

When I run OBS, the frame rate goes UP, to as fast as my game can run (about 140 FPS), with tearing. As soon as I quit OBS, the v-sync limiting works again.

I think this could be considered an OBS bug?

I've had a similar issue on Linux Mint 18 and (IIRC Linux Mint 17) using Cinnamon as my DE.

Although, if this is only on Linux, it might be an X issue.

EDIT:

For me this was an X issue. I switched from Nvidia's driver to the open source XServer for my old video card and restarted. Upon restart I could do full screen capture without flickering (with a minor performance hit). I'm using Mint 18/Ubuntu 16.04 with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 610.
