Question / Help OBS dropping frames, not even live

NOTE: I posted this about a week ago but nothing anyone suggested helped, so I am reposting it with edits because I haven't gotten a reply in two days.

Ok, so i've had this issue for a long time now and I have tried so many different settings to try and fix this issue, but nothing seems to work. I have an i5-6600k and a 1070 Strix. My upload speed is 6mbp/s which is enough to stream with. The issue is that when I am in game, I will have 150+ fps in game, but my OBS preview will show that it's dropping and fluctuating a ton from 60fps. It will go as low as 20fps at some points. I have used veryfast, superfast, and ultrafast for my CPU and none of them really help it too much.

I don't know what else I can do at this point which is why i'm coming here for help. My computer is obviously good enough to stream as well as my internet speed. Thank you.

It sounds like you need to limit the FPS in your game, as it's leaving nothing for OBS. Enable vsync or a frame rate limit if possible.

I just turned on VSync for H1Z1, and it is a lot smoother, however it does still have very noticeable frame drops every few seconds, like it will be at 60 in obs, but then will dip to 45- fps :L

I get a solid 144 FPS, it will occasionally dip to 130 but that's only if i'm moving my mouse around like a maniac

A log file from a stream / recording attempt would provide more info, OBS doesn't log anything if nothing is being output.

So weird thing, before enabling VSync it was dropping frames like crazy as I mentioned, after enabling, then disabling VSync, i'm dropping 0.0% frames while streaming, the CPU runs around ~15% though, which I think is fine, not 100% sure on that, but the game runs smooth as does the stream, thank you for suggesting VSync as it helped my issue :)
