Question / Help Obs dropping around 50% frames while recording

My OBS always had problems, I've messed around with settings and watched tons of videos. If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

Edit: Not a computer-smart person, so it might just be I have a PC that isn't up to the task of recording. Although I run CS:GO at 120 fps I still can't record it.

First, go to Nvidia and download Nvidia GeForce Experience. Then update your GPU drivers.

For game play and OBS on the same box, your CPU/GPU combo is weak to do 1080p.
So try 720p instead. Do this by going to:
  • Video | Output (scaled) resolution and set to 1280x720 (720p), Lanczos
  • Try experimenting with various FPS: 30, 45, 60 FPS

For recording:
  • Output Mode: Simple
  • Recording Quality: High Quality (try first) or Indistinguishable (higher requirements)
  • Recording Format: mkv (preferred), flv, or mp4

Well, it only drops around 34% frames now but that's still pretty unwatchable. Is there any other things I can do to improve this?
