Hi,

i just got my new internet with a download speed of 100 mbit/s and 15 mbit/s upload. But Obs is only using like 5000 kbit/s to stream. I dont think that my internet is the problem but i could be wrong. Is it possible that theres some problems with OBS here?

I would appreciate every help here.

Thanks in advance.

Most likely your OBS setting. what is your stream bitrate?
Is your streaming PC the ONLY device using the Internet connection? if not, do you know EXACTLY what the others are doing in terms of upload bandwidth?

Why is the stream indicator RED in the image above?
And, no, you can't safely/reliably use 100% of upload (average) bandwidth. The more advanced a network user you are (ie, you understand TCP ACK packets, ACLs, buffering, etc) the higher percentage you might be able to use. Personally I've used 80+% just fine. I also know exactly what I'm doing. Others will have a more reliable experience using a lower percentage.. nature of the Public Internet and consumer connections

my stream bitrate is at 6000 kb/s and yes my PC is the only device on my internet connection. But i cant understand how i only get like 5k to 3k upload speed on obs when its 15k on my upload. Ive tested my upload speed on speedtest and there it was more then 15k. This is also my new internet connection but on my old i was easy able to stream with this bitrate.

I really dont know what to do. The indicator is also changing fast from 5000 to 3000 or lower in like one to two second intervals. Is it maybe possible that i need to config my router or something else?

Thanks in advance.

Speedtests to NOT tell you how stable/reliable a connection is, nor its ability to sustain a certain rate. Also, those are often to a local server, vs whichever service/platform you are using for streaming. Local traffic could be fine, but going further has a problem. lost of articles (none related to OBS) on how to research this [depends on country and ISP]

Your most recent comments would indicate either a throughput limit on your computer (software, or otherwise.. can't tell as you haven't posted a log) or could be your internet provider. Another use recently posted about being fine when on VPN (to outside country) vs just local... so obviously local provider was impacting traffic

For a quick test, lower your bitrate to 1000kbps and see if you can get a stable connection. If yes, then increase until you find your real limit, then back off for a small safety margin.
