OBS doesn't work properly under OsX 10.14.06... I tried it on two macs and the result is exactly the same: the interface is very unstable and difficult to use because there's a delay between mouse clicks and interface response.
The position of the panels are difficult to arrange.
I can't see the output devices so now I use iShowU, but it's an inelegant solutions, and, as other users said, there's a lot of flickering if the selected window in under BSO in the same screen...
I hope in a new stable and correctly working release in short time...

Your computer is seven years old and has a low power intel integrated GPU, which is the most important hardware component for OBS performance.

Window capture in MacOS is non-performant. Use display (desktop) capture, with a crop "to a window".

If you have set the canvas resolution in OBS to be the native resolution of your display, I would lower it to 1080p or 720p, whichever you are planning on recording or streaming in, in order to get better performance. You are almost certainly overloading your GPU.

Use of iShowU, SoundFlower or other is required to capture desktop audio on MacOS because MacOS does not provide a hook for audio capture. This is unlikely to change.

Ok, thank you, I'll try with a new Mac in few days.
OBS is a beautiful software, I hope will run in the proper mode on the new hardware.

I would not suggest anyone buy new Mac hardware if their intent is to have a computer that works well with OBS. If you need a Mac for other reasons and also want to use OBS, fine... but if you're buying a computer whose primary purpose is running OBS, that computer is not a Mac.

Yes, I understand it, but I'm a sound engineer, and I use macs :-)
I have a new mac whith my equipment on a truck that is stopped for the Covid19 in this moment, so I can try it just when the trucker bring me all the equipment :-)

I hear you. Despite the minor silly hurdle of handling desktop audio capture with OBS, I generally find Mac audio handling to be relatively headache free compared to Windows.

It's just the exact opposite with video. I'd kill to get somebody at Apple to go beg Nvidia to support NVENC on MacOS.

Okay that and Vulkan support, too, but you can't have everything I guess.
