OBS doesn't use my headset microphone when recording

Hey, I'm pretty new to recording with OBS and I can't seem to get it to record using my headset microphone. I made a video the other day and it worked just fine using my headset mic, but for some reason its not now. Can someone please help me fix this? Thanks

It would help to know model, brand, usb or miniature plug......
Also, once plugged in, did you configure and assign it as an input in the software?
