OBS does not recognize Canon CR-N100 through HDMI

Hello, I have been trying to connect my canon cr-n100 though hdmi to OBS with a cam link 4k el gato and an avermedia bu113 capture cards but I do not get signal. OBS recognizes cam link but I do not get signal and when I connect the avermedia it recognizes it but no signal. Then, if I connect the hdmi to aver media first and then connect it to my laptop, OBS does not recognizes the aver media capture card even tho the aver media seems to be receiving the signal because the light is a solid blue, so I’m thinking that OBS does not recognizes my canon cr-n100 through hdmi (I can connect my camera though ip and ndi but not through hdmi). Any suggestion or help is welcomed, thanks.

As with almost all Sources, get them working at Operating System level first.. use native OS tools (like Windows Recorder, conferencing s/w, etc) to test
- be sure device/source permissions are set properly (don't assume all applications should have access to all source... often not true )

Thanks for the answer but I find out I was using the hdmi cable backwards (didn’t know there was a “right way” to connect it). After switching the hdmi to the right way, the camera worked flawlessly with my capture card.
