Question / Help OBS Does Not Open

So I click on OBS to open, but nothing happens. I go to my task manager and I see it running as a background process for some reason and not as an app. So I end task and try it again, but the same thing happens. I do not have OBS in my system tray either.

I then uninstalled. When I installed it again, it thankfully opened, but now I am having the same exact issue I was having before. Really not sure on what to do.

Hi Brian, I have the exact same problem. Did you manage to find a solution? I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, tried opening as an administrator, and still nothing. Driving me crazy.

I occasionally have that problem. I just kill the process in Task Manager and try again. It usually starts on the next try, but can take 2-3 on very rare occurrences.

This is a known issue if you have Elgato software installed. They're working on a fix.

Elgato have just released a new version of their game capture software / drivers which should fix this issue.

@R1CH is it the GCHD software, or their drivers causing the behavior? I'm using their alternate Directshow driver package, and still intermittently getting the issue. Could be unrelated, so not sure if I'll need to bug @LtRoyalShrimp about an updated DS driver or if updating GCHD will take care of it.

It's technically part of the driver I suppose, since it loads when the capture filter is loaded. CCUVC.X64.DLL is the problem module, you need at least version 1.0.0.182 of it.
