Question / Help OBS distorts microphone

If you're actually breathing into the microphone, the way to fix it is probably to not do that.

There are many ways to get rid of distortions, but we would need more details about the mic you're using, your sound device, etc.

The only options i found to get rid of that is by settings the audio bitrate to 320..the microphone is behringer c1-u

Again, if you are physically blowing air into the mic when you breathe out, you should stop doing that. It sounds terrible whether it distorts or not.

Alright, let's make two things clear:
  1. Noise, Distortion, etc. has absolutely nothing to do with your bitrate. The bitrate only controls how much of the source signal gets recorded. The higher the bitrate the more of the source signal will be transmitted, the lower the less, that's it. Of course quality depends on the codec.
  2. Breathing too loud (or at all) isn't good of course, but it does not(!) produce distortions, unless your mic or your drivers are not working as they should. Audio buffer size matters.
Now to your mic: It's not the best, many people are complaining about noise levels that seem to be too high. Which is bad, because if don't own some decent preamps, you won't get too much out of it.
If you get a good signal out of audacity and its software preamps, route the signal into OBS and have fun. Besides, use a pop-killer and don't breathe directly into the mic. I hope this was helpful.

I don't think that is going tot improve anything. A condenser mic like yours wouldn't give you any sound at all, if it doesn't get the 48V phantom power it needs. By the way, try to plug in every hardware directly, not through hubs. The more hardware the signals goes through, the more possible disturbences you will get.
