So I stream on twitch, and I use a wall adapter with 2 ethernet ports for a wired connection to my gaming setup. 1 port used for my gaming laptop, the other used for my playstation. Some days I can stream for as long as 7 hours without a disconnect, others I'll disconnect after maybe 90 mins into the stream. However, it is always OBS disconnecting, and then the ethernet connection to my laptop completely dies. I always have to restart the laptop to get my connection working again. The funny thing is, whilst this happens on my laptop, my playstation internet connection is completely fine, I'll still be in the middle of an online game whilst my OBS/laptop connection dies out.
I've done some research and tried implementing the following solutions but with no success:
1) Bitrate.
I usually get minimum 12mbps upload speed (you can see 42mbps here), but I have still kept my encoder bitrate safe with 6500Kbps, as you can see in the screenshot below. I am aware twitch needs ~6000kbps. The stream quality is usually very good, I don't experience any frame drops according to my viewers, just a straight disconnect.
I am aware that I need to check RMTP quality, so I will post TwitchTest results shortly...
I have also experimented with the Dynamic bitrate setting, but I did not see any improved results
NOTE: It has been suggested to try the network optimisation & enable TCP pacing options. I will try this the next time I stream and provide feedback.
2) Updating latest drivers
I have the latest driver installed from NVIDIA (released January 5th 2026 at the time of this post).
3) I've attached my latest log file.
Would really appreciate any insight for how I can resolve this issue. I am going to try TwitchTest and post my results in the thread. Thank you all.
