OBS detects mic, but when streaming or recording there is no audio from the mic

OBS will pick up audio from the game or anything else, but not record my microphone

I've been playing around and changing the mic to monitor only lets me record, but only because it's now recording on the same track as the desktop audio as well. How do i keep it separate and still able to record

Disable microphone in Settings / Audio
