Question / Help OBS detecting mic but not recording it

I ran into an issue yesterday were OBS studio was picking up the microphone in the tab but in the recordings it gave me no microphone audio, this happened suddenly without me changing the software settings, i decided to uninstall and reinstall the software after being unable to find others who had run into the same issue but it still picks up the mic but doesnt record it.
please get back to me as soon as possible with any helpful info or advice.

Checked your mixer settings and confirmed that both desktop and mic is set to the same track? Your media player can probably only play one sound track.
