Question / Help OBS Cuts Volume In Half

I've noticed that when I start OBS, it seems to cut the volume of any programs running before I start OBS. If I want to stream a game, that I'm already playing (for example, someone logs on that might want to watch), I have to quit the game, close out of it entirely, start OBS, and then start the game back up, and then I can finally stream. Is this a feature that can be turned off/disabled? I tried looking through settings but I didn't find any way to control this behavior.

If you're experiencing sound volume reduction when OBS is opened, try checking the "Disable Windows audio ducking" option in Settings -> Advanced in OBS. Then restart OBS to see if the issue is resolved.

Sadly that did not seem to work. I tried both checked and unchecked, and it's still cutting all volume in half.

Sorry for the late reply. The only other thing I can think of is disabling audio ducking in Windows completely. This is in the "Sounds" setting (right-click your speaker icon in your system tray, click Sounds) under the Communication tab. You can set it to "Do nothing". I've never heard of this happening before though.
