Question / Help OBS Crashing since version 24 came out.

I don't know if anyone is really going to help me or care too, but recently since version 25.0.4 came out, OBS Studio has become really unstable and crashes more then it should. I was streaming Valorant and The Sims 4 and in the MIDDLE of my stream, I suddenly see "An Encoder Error has occurred". I go to check the log file and noticed this strange little bit of code here. I think that is where the error happened. I really really hope that the OBS Team is aware of this issue because I am NOT the only person to have this issue as MANY people in the Discord have said the exact same issue of crashing and unstableness with OBS 25.0.4. I don't understand what is going at all.

Code:
22:58:03.036: [jim-nvenc: 'streaming_h264'] get_encoded_packet: nv.nvEncLockBitstream(s, &lock) failed: 4 (NV_ENC_ERR_INVALID_DEVICE)
22:58:03.036: Error encoding with encoder 'streaming_h264'
22:58:03.054: [rtmp stream: 'adv_stream'] Encoder error, disconnecting
22:58:03.054: Output 'adv_stream': stopping
22:58:03.055: Output 'adv_stream': Total frames output: 420492 (421442 attempted)
22:58:03.055: Output 'adv_stream': Total drawn frames: 421367 (421540 attempted)
22:58:03.055: Output 'adv_stream': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 173 (0.0%)
22:58:03.055: Output 'adv_stream': Number of dropped frames due to insufficient bandwidth/connection stalls: 950 (0.2%)
22:58:03.054: Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 174/421524 (0.0%)

That error has also been an ongoing issue with COD:MW, and the underlying issue has seemed to be VRAM usage. Try lowering your graphics settings in-game (specifically texture resolution) and see if the problem continues.

Ok, but most of my graphic settings aren't that high at all. That's what's weird about all of this.

Unfortunately not much is known about what causes this. The most that's known from the MW case is that it's an nvidia driver issue that presents itself at high vram usage. This could be an unrelated issue, but the result is the exact same error code.

After I upgraded from version 22.0.2 to the latest, my OBS is extremely fragile and would crash even when I change scene collections. So, for serious work, I keep my old version installed as portable. Version 25 is crappy on the browser either for people with windows 7.

I tried reinstalling my video driver after using DDU, but According to Fenrir on the discord, he said they didn't touch anything to do with NVENC encoder. But I still feel like something did change with OBS 25 and I really hope the OBS Team would go take a look at it. I know for me I also had any dated plugins that needed updating. And I did some other rooting around my PC to see if there was another issue that may or may not is related. But again, I still hold my reserve that the OBS Team really should go take a look at the code for it just to make sure because apparently I am not the only one that has been having issues.

I hope too. Of course something has changed on the browser, because it doesn't work as it did. I sincerely hope that the development team look at the version 24, 25 browser.

For me also. It is very fragile to crash. I went back to version 22.0.2
