OBS Crashing and Encoder Overloading

Hello everyone,
My name is Zen of ZensQuest, and I have been having A LOT of issues with OBS for about a month now. I am currently using version 31.0.0, after updating on December 6th. I have tried all recommendations on the OBS Troubleshooting page, and nothing is working, and I have also been searching extensively on Google/YouTube, and I am just in a loop of trying things and those things not working.

The first messages I was getting were that of the encoder overloading, and this still happens after trying all recommended on the performance troubleshooting page. Right before I posted this thread, I was streaming an RPG that had no fast action just dialogue on screen. I humbly request assistance so that these crashes and encoder overloading can hopefully stop. Thank you everyone!

Regards,
Zen

Right before I posted this thread, I was streaming an RPG that had no fast action just dialogue on screen.

Since I cannot edit my post, just want to correct that I was trying to say that I was streaming Metaphor: Refantazio, and when I was in a dialogue sequence, OBS crashed at that point.

Also, I forgot to mention that I have an RTX 3080 GPU, AMD Ryzen 7 5800x processor, and 32 GB of RAM. Thank you again!

Disabling HAGS should help with the crashing.
04:58:44.481: HAGS Status: Enabled (Default: No, Driver status: Supported)

There is some rendering lag/GPU overload. Reduce load/clear it up & most if not all the encoding lag should go away too.

Both monitors are running @ 144HZ. Try running your main monitor @ 120HZ & the secondary @ 60HZ when using OBS.

rockbottom,

Thank you so much for your reply. I disabled HAGS, and I will also change the refresh rate on the monitors. I greatly appreciate it and I will post an update after tomorrow when I stream again. Have a great one!

Hey rockbottom,

I did everything you suggested, and things were worse. Instead of the encoder overloading frequently, it just kept saying encoder overload the entire time I was streaming. I don't know if it is my processor or GPU...or should I go to an earlier version of OBS. Thank you again.

Is OBS still crashing? Is the rendering lag gone?

Need to see the log from the session to see what changed.

The Twitch enhanced settings you were using in the earlier sessions look OK & shouldn't be causing encoding lag.

rockbottom,

So sorry, lol. I was so flustered that I forgot to attach the logs. Here are the logs for me streaming today. Thank you so much again.

120 is unobtainium with that game & 60 FPS probably will cause lag as well.

Yeah. Probably won't stream that again. I just see other streamers with similar hardware and their streams go on for hours, but I can't stream anything without the encoder overloading. OBS locked up twice after a restart, but no crashes in the folder.

Try another game or set both monitors @ 60HZ & test again. Still think there may be some slight rendering lag remaining.

OBS had a constant encoder overload and it locked up twice while streaming Diablo IV. Did you see anything out of the ordinary with that?

Haven't gotten to that yet but things looked decent when you were streaming the bluestacks app, bandwidth issues aside.

Yeah. I was streaming Monopoly Go, lol. I saw no issues streaming it. You mentioned bandwidth. I have 1G download and 40 upload. I have enhanced broadcasting enabled. I wonder if that is causing issues?

The reason I re-enabled HAGS, is because the performance was worse with it off. So, are you saying all of this is because I should not be streaming at 1080p?
