Bug Report OBS Crashes with H265 and MP4 files

I backed up and updated windows last night. This version should not be 2 years old.
Harold i have seen you telling others to save to mp4, however i work with Magix vegas and dont see much choice so anything else. Is there another option that i can use? What should i save with then?

im also looking for a fix for this, rather than be told to use something else.

Vegas I'm pretty sure isn't able to accept h.265 source videos.
And even if it does, vegas DEFINITELY has problems when you save directly to mp4 in OBS.
Save to MKV then remux recordings after you're done recording.

Remux means to take the streams out of one container (for instance, MKV) and put those same streams into another container (for instance, MP4) without altering the streams (which would be transcoding).

You should record in mkv and remux to mp4 after recording, using the Remux menu in the File menu, or configure OBS to do so automatically in Settings.
