Question / Help OBS Crashes When I Alt-Tab or Click Off of Game

Recently, whenever I Alt-Tab or click off of the game to type something in chat or manage things on Streamlabs, OBS just crashes. It makes a Windows error sound, but I don't remember there being a popup indicating a crash happened. I was asked to save a crash report, so maybe there was, but it didn't appear over everything else. OBS also appears normal, except that it says 0 kbps in the bottom right.

I have no idea what causes this crash. It only started happening after the 20.1.3 update came out, but it still happened even after I reverted to an older version.

Any insight on this is appreciated. I'm happy to provide additional info if needed. Thank you.

That seems to have fixed it, thank you!

Out of curiosity, why would the compatibility mode cause issues? I was using it because it solved framerate issues I would get when streaming The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+. I did a test with this game as well and didn't get issues with compatibility mode off, so I'm fine with keeping it off.

It's not a big deal if you don't have time to answer that, I'm happy enough the crashing issue seems to be gone.

Thanks again, R1CH!

Compatibility mode was renamed "SLI / Crossfire Mode (slow)" to better reflect what it does. You very likely do not have it on and do not have the same issue as the OP, so you should make your own thread.
