Question / Help OBS crashes on startup

Hello everyone, I've been using OBS for years without many issues.
Starting from yesterday, with nothing new in OBS or in the PC, i've been having crashes on startup.

Most of the times OBS keeps running in the background with multiple browser-page processes running as well. I can close the browser-page but the OBS process just won't close even if I try to kill it from the Task Manager. Eventually it closes on its own after a variable time.

Even when, by pure luck, OBS starts and doesn't crash either the cam or the Elgato capture card don't work.

I'm attaching the logs for both the crash and OBS hoping it help.

Thank you very much in advance for any help on this. I use OBS daily to stream and it's kind of killing me right now.

OBS is crashing due to an old Elgato's driver. Follow these steps (carefully, in order!) to correct it.

1) Unplug your Elgato device (if USB)
2) Uninstall all Elgato software and drivers from Add/Remove Programs
3) Reboot your PC (Very important you do this before trying to install anything else)
4) Reinstall the Elgato software/drivers
5) Plug the Elgato card back in (if not already prompted to during the Elgato software installation)

In terms of the obs browser processes not closing, this is a known issue. When OBS crashes, the browser sources try to close themselves but get stuck in a loop. They'll eventually use as much CPU as they can - feel free to close them manually.

Thank you very much WizardCM, that seems to have fixed it! It's good to know if it ever happens again.

Is there anyway I can prevent this from happening in the future?

As far as I know, newer Elgato drivers shouldn't cause the issue anymore.
