Question / Help OBS Crashes on Launch

Hi friends,
I was recently making some changes to OBS and after installing a new VST 2 plugin, OBS now always crashes on launch. I tried removing the VST plugin from the folder, thinking that was what caused the crash, but it did not fix the issue. I'm looking thru the crash report, but I'm not seeing any errors that would let me know what is going wrong.

If anyone has time to try and help me with this, I'd be super appreciative. Normally I would just remake the scenes from scratch, but really complex and fixing this would save me upwards of 4 hours. Happy to answer any questions and upload any other files. I suspect I may need to edit the scene collection's json in order to get back in.

Thanks,
Matt~

Specifically did you remove this VST plugin?

Check out this log file. FYI, deleting the full app data folder brought it back but if I copy back my scene data it crashes again.

Fixed it! I was trying to use a noise removal VST that apparently was causing OBS to crash at launch. So what I did was moved the VST files to my desktop (rather than uninstalling them). This allowed me to open OBS. After that I went into the audio sources I had applied that VST and removed it. I closed OBS, then put my VST files back in their original folder. No issues launching OBS now.

Yes, thats the one causing the error. Thank you.
What from that error report let you know that it was that one that was causing the issues? It wasn't the new VST plugin that I installed, and I had been launching with that plugin successfully for months.

Again, super appreciative.

I never looked at th error report. I don't understand them. I just figured it out through trial and error. Wish I had a better answer for you.

Mate, you saved so many hours of work on my end! I had the same thing, been using Reastream (VST Plugin) for months and then bam crash. I couldn't even open OBS to change the plugin. Followed your advice and copied the whole VST folder to the desktop and then I could delete the input and redo it. Again thankyou!!
