OBS crashes on any scene change

Go update your VLC to see if you stop crashing.

Unfortunately reinstalling VLC and OBS had no effect on this.

There appears to be a bug with the latest VLC and how it interacts with OBS.

I searched extensively, found many folks with the same issue, and a solution: I downgraded to VLC version 3.0.0 and it works fine now.

Another update.

There's another bug in VLC 3.0.0 that prevents a VLC playlist from playing.

After further extensive research (hmmmm), I downgraded to 2.2.4 and I can change scenes AND have a video playlist that works too.

It's interesting that despite multiple users complaining of the same issue, neither VLC or OBS seems to address it. I guess software interactivity with other software is a low priority.

OBS now functions well with VLC but I am still getting a crash when I close OBS.

Can you screen shot your scene properties and what GPU/CPU are you using? Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall? Are your drivers up to date? Are you on a proxy monitored network?

I thought I had done this. I uninstalled OBS and reinstalled it. The crashes at application closure stopped.

My next experiment will be to reinstall the latest VLC to see if that now works without crashes but I am nervous about "upsetting the apple cart."
