OBS crashes immediately on open (suddenly, no changes otherwise)

Help! I've been trying to solve this since last night. I have been using OBS a few times per week, for a few years, 2 years on this same laptop (Apple M3 pro) and suddenly, last night, OBS would crash "quit unexpectedly" when I try to open it, offering me the options to "Run Normally" or "Run in Safe Mode" - neither work. I've tried several times. I hadn't done any updates or anything before this.

I have since:
  1. restarted my mac (closing all other apps first);
  2. shut down and waited and restarted again; (a few times)
  3. updated my mac OS to most recent (Tahoe 26.0);
  4. installed a new version of OBS (32.0.1, apple chip), keeping the old one, just in case, but renaming it;
  5. and made a back-up of my settings/scenes (I think, anyway).
My next attempt will be uninstalling and reinstalling, but I'm nervous as I have dozens of components/sources in my scenes and if I didn't back up correctly, I fear it will be gone. I am running a livestream (youtube) in an hour and thought I'd post here in case anyone had any other quick suggestions or insights, or if there was some widespread issue I'm not yet aware of.

Well I was received a message about failure to authenticate twitch error 404 or something like that so I did reinstall obs Apple Sillicon and now when I go to reconnect my account to twitch it crashes everytime. I have reset my key logged out and logged back in. Nothing. Not sure if it is all related.
