Currently having an issue with OBS where it intermittently crashes due it thinking that GPU (NVIDIA 2070 Super) has been disconnected. This cannot possibly be the case, as the game that is running at the same time runs fine and does not crash when this happens. (And also I'm not disconnecting the GPU by hand!)
An interesting thing to note is that when this happens, task manager will report that the GPU is running at a very low load (say 1%-5%) as if the game is not running whilst the game is running! (Say 60%-70%). Re-opening OBS makes task manager report the correct values for the GPU load.
Crash logs always state: Failed to recreate D3D11: Failed to create buffer (80070057)
When not streaming, on crash the log says:
Again I want to stress that the GPU runs fine, otherwise the game would crash. It seems to be an issue with OBS itself as it's the only program that crashes due to it thinking it's disconnected.
I've done a clean GPU driver installation using DDU and am running the latest drivers (as of 18 September 2021 this is 471.96)
This issue occurs on 27.0, 27.0.1 and 27.0.1 rc-2, using the HVENC (new), H.264 and H.265 encoders.
I've only been running one scene and not transitioning to any others as part of the tests.
I'm aware that the 3D part of the GPU is different from the parts used to decode/encode video. I can't understand how that part failing because it thinks it's disconnected does not cause the same issue on the 3D side.
