OBS Crashes After Exiting Every Session

Sometime after OBS 30, OBS has consistently crashed when closing it after streaming and recording. It never exhibited this behavior previously and not much has changed on our end. Same problem in safe mode. We're totally stumped. As far as we can tell, all drivers are up to date and I don't believe we have any plugins running.

The crash logs seem to point to win-wasapi.dll, which to my understanding is a basic Windows audio process.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

We originally posted this almost 2 days ago, but must have hit some anti-spam protection because it's been sitting invisible since then.

Hello all,

We are no closer to a solution and can't figure out why the crashes keep happening. This time, I have attached the crash log. We'd appreciate any insight.

Hi Harold,

The file is just mislabeled. It is from 2024. My apologies for not catching it before I uploaded this most recent report.

Is not mislabeled, it's from December 2021.

If there's no crash report then the cause of the crash comes from an external issue.
The AV you're using is one of the worst you can find. It's incredible intrusive and acts more like a malware than a security suit. Temporarily disabling it don't fix it. As far as you have good behavior online you don't need anything more than the actually good security suit that comes with windows.
Most of the times with only this step fixes all.

You're using dynamic bitrates on a 10Mb network connection. This shows you have serious network issues, perhaps caused by the above explained. Disable this.
If you used any network optimization software, undo the changes. This software normally cause more issues than fixes.

Once you fix the above, lest test the quality of your connection against twitch servers:
Anything bellow 90 quality is bad and most probably an issue within the ISP.

Now, please use the Auto-configuration Wizard (tools menu) and apply the settings it gives. Do NOT change anything.
Restart OBS
Test as is. Notice you're in simple output mode. Keep it like this, touch nothing at all.
If all goes well, you're done.

For recording you can use one of the quality presets that fit your preference.

Thank you for your reply PaiSand. I see now that we are not getting present-day crash reports. Not sure why, as OBS constantly says it did not shut down properly.

Does this log file from our last stream provide any further insights?
