Question / Help OBS crashed mid video, can I salvage the footage?

Hello friends,
I'm using OBS for a while now to record my videos and live streams, have to say that it made my life so much easier.
Yesterday I was recording a video while streaming, and about 40 minutes in OBS crashed, and the video that was made up until that point can't be worked with. Is there a way to somehow make that footage work, or I might as well delete the file.

Depend what format is the recording in? if its .mp4 unlikely, if flv or mkv usually possible

Yes switch to flv so that you can still most of the time access the footage if say you get a BSoD during recording.
