GTX 980 TI
ROG Maxmimus X Hero
16gb DDR 4 3000
650W Power
Upload 10mbit constant

I use a Single PC setup for Stream/Gaming

my OBS Settings are:
i dont record my streams

Output:
x264
1280x720
CBR
Bitrate 4500
Keyframe 1
Processor on Medium (fast and Faster same issues)

https://i.imgur.com/Y18Lmw0.png - OBS Settings (change the bitrate to 4500 and medium)
https://i.imgur.com/sTui3MB.png - OBS Settungs (using 60fps not 30)

I also tested to stream with gpu but then i got fps drops and the games are unplayable.

Maybe anyone have a ideo to reduce cpu usage?
A streamer told me he streamed with a single pc and have cpu @ 20% and gpu at 10-15% ... he doesnt tell me how. Maybe i got problems with my pc?

Thank you for reading this bad english. Hope you can help me. I have no troubles to read english, but to write own words is not that easy for me.

Create a new Scene collection or disable all of your Browser Sources and re-test. Widgets can bug out and jack your CPU usage through the roof

how about changing the cpu affinity and priority ? I would try to give obs only 2 cores and take these two from far cry and set both prioritys to high.

i will try it later at home. You mean 2 cores fixed for obs and the other 4 are open for all tasks? or 2 more fixed for the game i actually play?

With your 8700k, you have 12 Threads. Windows sees it as 12 cores. You go into the task manager -> details-> right click on the program -> set affinity. Uncheck <all processors> and let only those cpus check which you wanna be active for the program

Exapmple :
cpu affinity for OBS : cpu 0-1
cpu affinity for far cry : cpu 2 - 11

Uhoh, I have recently experienced OBS taking 30-35% CPU, which is more than a whole core on my i5. I do have 7 different browser sources... but it has been fine up till now. But it is known that browser sources can freak out? I sure wish there was some profiling option for sources so I could see what part(s) of the overlay is causing my issue, I'll try to lower frame-rate on a few of them and see if it helps.
