I have a catalina macbook air 8GB RAM. I use obs studio for recording. My problem is when I launch obs it emmediately comsumes 40-50% of the cpu and if I start recording, this number skyrockets to more than 100% of the cpu. This causes dropping frames and the computer becoming very slow over all and noisy. These percentages are the ones reported by the mac Activity Monitor. The obs itself says that it using a maximum of 20% of the cpu.
I have tryied many things including: reinstalling obs, lowering the bitrate, changing the preset and lowering the output resolution and reducing frames.
Note: I don't use that many scenes. Just two atmost. And also I use an iphone as my webcam. Note: I used to use obs in the past (I haven't used it for almost half a year) and I didn't notice this problem. I have never looked at the cpu usage as I have never felt that my computer was slowing down.
Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks in advance.
