OBS connects to 127.0.0.1

OBS Studio connects to 127.0.0.1 which is a local adress, my question is why does obs make this connect attempt?
Is it needed for what exactly? I blocked it but obs works just fine so then whats the matter anyone can explain?

Depends entirely on your settings. Most likely websocket server or some source.
