Question / Help OBS Classic vs Studio (Desktop Audio Delayed)

Hello! Long time OBS user here with what I believe to be a very unique issu

I have searched VERY long and VERY hard to find someone with the same problem as me but almost everyone is talking about a capture card delay (el gato cards), or how to purposefully delay their audio to sync up to their captured footage, ect ect ect.

My issue is simply this any audio that is in the form of "Desktop Audio" i.e: Youtube videos, foobar music, windows dings, bells and whistles, all that jazz... is delayed by several seconds (2-8). The funny thing is ALL audio level bars in studio are in sync with the audio and everything sounds in sync to me HOWEVER, what gets output to my local recording OR to the stream is delayed. This ONLY applies to "desktop audio". All capture card / microphone audio is perfectly in sync.

I have checked all intentional delay methods and made absolutely certain they are all set to 0. The only delay being imposed is my microphone to sync with my webcamera at 95ms.

This issue also ONLY persists in OBS Studio, the past 3 versions until current.

This issue also ONLY happens MOST of the time, not ALL of the time.

So TL;DR

OBS Studio 17.0.2

All audio from my perspective is in perfect sync. (All audio meter bars are sync'd with their respective audio sources)

Desktop audio is significantly delayed (2-8 seconds) to local recordings and Twitch

No delay is being purposefully added

OBS Classic works perfectly fine.

Any flipping ideas? This one is REALLY ripping my hair out.

I used OBS to upload the current log file: https://gist.github.com/1469bb56e30052ad0da933c9b813688d

Can you create a new Scene Collection (menu at the top of OBS, not just a new scene) and only add a few source to run a quick test and see if that corrects the delay issue?

`However, i went back to my old scene collection and tried again, audio is sync'd. I changed zero audio settings what-so-ever.

Thanks for checking. I suspected that there was a rogue setting somewhere that got "stuck" (very, very rare but I've seen it happen once or twice before), creating a new Scene Collection sometimes gives it a swift kick. Glad that it worked for you!

So I can go back to my original scene collection or should I rebuild my scenes from scratch? Is this a temporary fix as this is a very rare bug?

Yup! If everything is working in the old collection no reason to not just use that. I can't say exactly what caused it as I'm just not sure, but it is very rare that this happens so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

You mean the audio monitoring feature that was added in 18.0.0 that you haven't updated to yet? ;)

...I was skeptical to update. I updated. GG OBS.... GG. I'm now overjoyed and have nothing left to do but raise a glass in celebrations.
