Question / Help OBS causes a huge performance hit

Basically the title. I got i7 4790k and for some reason OBS eats up to 20% of my CPU on idle and 50% of it while recording/streaming. I've tried disabling the preview, changed the scaling (right now im running 1080p>720p scaling) but nothing seems to help. It's pretty huge since it causes League of Legends to lower its fps's even more (200 to around 100 at the beggining, 40-50 fps in a later stages of the game) and I still didnt find solution how to fix it. I've read that a couple of guys reported performance problems with proprietary drivers but I cant really do much since switching to mesa ones is basically a sudoku for my performance (I can't get more than 20 fps in CS:GO/League doesnt even start. My GPU is HD7770). Any suggestions? I'd love to stream from Linux but it seems like I wont be able to unless I somehow solve that puzzle :(

if you care about performance stop scaling and go to quicksync. obs eats 20% of your cpu in idle because of frequency scaling of your cpu...
