Question / Help OBS cause games to become choppy

I have used obs studio for recording my games for quite some time now on my desktop and it works perfectly! Although when I try doing the same with my laptop, it will cause the games to become a bit choppy in actual gameplay (not playback) from big games, even to the smallest of games such as the elder scrolls 1.. It happens even without recording/ streaming it, I just open OBS, use either a screen or a game capture to display the game in the editor, but when I open the game with OBS capturing (not recording or streaming) it on the editor, the game becomes a bit choppy...

I have tried setting output setting down pretty low (although I wouldn't think it'd make a difference) and closing everything else except for OBS and the game. Still the game become choppy.. I have no idea how to fix this.

Ok, nvm this.. I guess it's fine now -_- , Just tried it with factorio and audiosurf and no skipped frames I guess. Also tried Elder scrolls 1 without obs and it was still choppy for some reason, so I guess it's not obs now :/ .. Its just awhile ago when I last used obs for games on my laptop, the above always happened and so when I used it for the elder scrolls 1 today, I just figured the same thing was happening :/
