Hi, I have a somewhat old computer, but it still runs games quite smoothly, for example the game I am trying to record Hollow Knight runs at 52 fps on my laptop and never breaks, when I run obs, my cpu is still low, always lower than 40 percent yet it captures horrible footage catching about 1 frame every 3 seconds, here is an example of the footage I get https://youtu.be/CUY5B70gx5k.
