OBS Capturing my Mic without being added to scene - when added to scene it creates an echo

Hi guys! My name is Cooper!

I’ve recently been having a problem with my mic and it being picked up on OBS without having a source on specific scenes.. I’m unsure how to fix this as my old computer didn’t have this problem but switching to this new computer I have has started it! I have tried many different solutions and have looked online for other issues but I haven’t really found anything similar to this! The reason I’m trying to find a fix is I want to add filters to my mic to up the quality of my stream!

I use discord to talk and have my mic set up in there so I was thinking it may have something to do with that? However I’ve tried basically everything I can think of!

Settings -> Audio is where you can configure global audio sources. You can set filters for those sources in the main window, by pressing the gear in the Mixer.
