Question / Help OBS can't find window

So I'm having a problem that OBS can't find any windows that I have open. The dropdown menu is just empty, nothing (image1). Sometimes it did find Chrome, Firefox and Powerpoints that I had open but most of the time nothing.
And when OBS does find like Powerpoint (image2) it's all white, is this normal?

This is the right procedure right: make a scene -> from sources select window capture -> choose window from dropdown menu that you have open atm?

I'm using Windows 10 Home 64-bit, i7-6700, 8GB RAM, GTX 960m

So,
I have done the steps that are written in here: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/laptop-black-screen-when-capturing-read-here-first.5965/
Now when capturing different windows it's white screen, starting to get so confused. Camera, display capture etc are working just fine. It's window capture that is giving me a headache. Am I still doing something wrong?
