Question / Help OBS Can't Find Elgato

I have a Mac, so the most up to date software I have for my Elgato is 2.0.2. OBS can't find my Elgato. Any suggestions?

Capture the Elgato window, since the Elgato driver doesn't support adding the Elgato to OBS directly.

is a 'proper' way to get the elgato ever going to happen? Ive done the capture the elgato window and lets be fair, its not great!

That is up to Elgato.

Elgato does not provide operating system drivers for macs, so other programs that can use video devices are unable to use it. I'm assuming that it's not cost-effective for them to spend development time implementing drivers due to the fact that the only program that would probably end up using it is obs.

I got stung by Elgato abandoning OSX support for their H264 encoding dongle a couple of OS updates ago. It's just another example of the danger of closed APIs. If they had open-sourced their interface the user community could have jumped in and saved their bacon.
