My OBS Studio suddenly couldn't connect to either of my cameras. Examination of the log showed that it was failing to load vlc-source because I had only the ARM version of VLC, not x86-64. But it's running on an Apple Mac Mini M1. I downloaded a Universal Binary version of VLC which includes x86-64, and then it worked fine.
