OBS can't detect Intel Quick Sync on Kubuntu 20.04

Hi. I've been having some problems with OBS under Kubuntu. Using either the repository or the Flatpak version results in the same thing: Quick Sync not begin detected. This results in having to use the Software codec (which, in a underpowered laptop, is quite painful). Can anyone point me in the right direction about how to solve this issue? Thanks in advance.
