OBS cannot find or use VLC

I had to completely remove VLC and install it using snap for RTSP support
/snap/bin/ is added to $PATH so when I run the command 'vlc', it loads up, I can view RTSP streams, etc...
But OBS isn't loading the video when I set the input source to VLC and put in the RTSP stream
And before mentioning 'why not use Media Source and choose not a local file' I am forced to go the VLC route due to the camera.

The exact scene collection works on my windows computer, but I need it to work on a small debian computer.

I tried uninstalling OBS and reinstalling using snap, still no luck. Maybe OBS is using a different VLC other than the snap VLC?
