Question / Help OBS, CamTwist, Syphon, and Yosemite OSX

Hey everyone!

In short, Yosemite broke CamTwist, which is what I was using as a Syphon to achieve a delayed webcam feed on Mac. I tried using Syphon source on OBS, but it seems like it can't handle the Elgato recording while streaming. When I used CamTwist's Syphon support, I was able to record on the Elgato, stream on Twitch, and even record the OBS stream simultaneously without a drop in performance!

Any way of adding CamTwist as a video capture device with Yosemite? For whatever reason, it is no longer viewable as one. If not, is there any way to "up" the performance of OBS using Syphon as a video source?

Nevermind, everyone, figured it out! A simple re-install of CamTwist was all that was needed - the issue was caused by some kind of permission!

Same happened to me, upgraded to Yosemite and now Camtwist won't work. Tried re installing it but still can't get it to work.

not sure what you mean by broke camtwist. I am running CamT 2.5 and Yosemite updated and working just fine. in Fact running the syphon server from CT thru obs has even helped with my webcam lag issus

So is Syphon better to use than using camtwist as a video capture device? I'm trying to do overlays and capture my Game Capture 60, but it's lagging. Didn't think of using Syphon.

You can only use Syphon on EyeTV, which you can get for free from Elgato if you email them as an Elgato owner, I believe.
