Question / Help OBS + Blackmagic Capture + Older iMac

Hi Everyone, before I invest money into a Blackmagic capture device, I'm wondering will it work on an iMac (mid 2011 with thunderbolt ports) running OBS? I'm planning to stream Nintendo Switch games...right now I use it to stream 3DS/2DS games via a Katsukity modded 2DS via USB. I'd hate to buy one and not have it work :/ any advice appreciated.

In general, yes. I can't speak to your precise intended use (modded 2DS) but BlackMagic supplies standard video drivers on MacOS for their devices.

I can confirm that a BMD Ultra Studio Mini Recorder works well with my mid-2011 27" iMac, taking HDMI video out from a MacBook Pro and inputting via Thunderbolt to iMac for a scene in OBS.

I'm running a Mac Pro from 2010 on High Sierra (10.13).

Not related to capture cards, but people using Syphon will find it breaks in Mojave and above (10.14).
