I recently got a new pc and thought it would be fun to use a screen recording software when I play with friends. I am not too familiar with OBS, so I was confused when all of a sudden it was unable to capture any of my games. All that records is audio but it only appears as a black screen, I have tried troubleshooting, redownloading, and resetting the transform size. Also, after a while of having OBS open, when I click any button the whole thing will just freeze and crash not allowing me to close it. The only way to get it off my screen is to restart my pc entirely. I have also tried other recording softwares to make sure and I have come to the conclusion that its only OBS giving me this problem. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Some games don't allow to be captured using game-capture method.
In this cases you have to use window-capture. In a few cases even this don't work and you're forced to use display capture.
The freez may be due to your computer not be enough to run the game and OBS at the same time.
